Dr. Prejit, Officer-In- Charge of COHEART, is a graduate of Veterinary Science (1998-2003 batch) from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research (Formerly Rajiv Gandhi College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences). He has undergone his master’s degree in Veterinary Public Health at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy. Thereafter, he completed his Ph. D at Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly, UP. Dr. Prejit has received various national awards for his contribution in the field of public health. This includes G.P Sen Endowment award at AIVPHS Conference at Orissa, Best presentation award at National seminar on the occasion of world rabies day, Dr. SP Singh Best research paper award, ICFMH Travel grant to attend Food Micro 2012 at Istanbul, Young scientist award at X IAVPHS conference on “One health initiative in addressing food safety challenges” etc. He has published more than 30 scientific articles in national and international journals. He has guided 2 MVSc students, 2 MSc Students and Co-guided various other MVSc students. Apart from his routine duty as Officer-In-Charge of the Centre, he also holding the post of Assistant Professor in Department of Veterinary Public Health, CVAS, Pookode, Deputy Quality Manager-NABL, Food Quality Assurance Lab, Pookode, Secretary of Staff Council, CVAS, Pookode, Officer on Special Duty at Directorate of Academics and Research, KVASU and Course Director, PG Certificate and PG Diploma in One Health Courses.
Dr. Vinod VK, Centre Co-ordinator, is a graduate of Veterinary Science (1990-1995 batch) from College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy. He has undergone his masters degree in Veterinary Public Health. He is having the credit of publishing an article on "Steps to sustainable livestock" that appeared in the prestigious journal “Nature”. He has also acted as a resource person from KVASU and participated in the Global Innovation Initiative workshop at Bristol.
